‘Clothing’ Bringing about New Connections: Kanda Myojin’s Hidden-away Store, ‘M’
Kanda Myojin, one of the most famous “power spots” in Tokyo, enshrines Ebisu-sama, the god of business. It is also known as the holy ground for popular anime, and is crowded daily with Japanese and foreign worshippers alike.
Hidden away at the back of all this is a new area considered an “experimental community space.” “M” is a gallery-cum-store managed by designer Michiko Nakayama.
The fashion brand “M” includes collections inspired by things that resonate with Nakayama. She introduces clothing that draws out the charm of the things surrounding her, such as: people, spaces, and works she spends time with.
