Koenji Street Fashion
At first glance, it appears that the shops lined up in Koenji’s shopping arcade and the people who gather there don’t match. The atmosphere of the arcade belies the surprisingly fashionable shops that line its streets. This is one of Koenji’s appeals.
Large families come and go at a slow pace. Harajuku is a place to breeze through; Koenji is a place to stop and look at.
This area somehow exudes a vibrant sense, whether its inhabitants are dressed in fashionable styles or in outfits that purposely seek to be plain. Whether dressed in ethnic garb, vintage clothing or bizarre threads, the most important thing is for those in Koenji to be true to themselves.
This is probably the best way to define Koenji.
