As of winter of 2009, Japanese men’s fashion is heading toward visual-kei styles.
There are a few reasons for this fad such as a revival of visual-kei bands and a drastic change in men’s attitude concerning skin care and cosmetic products.
In fact, 40 percent of Japanese men in their 20’s trim their eyebrows and a great number of them feel comfortable to wear women’s clothes.

The most influential group of people in this fad is hosts, who are male version of kyaba jo ladies and know how to be a center of the attraction.
They are very keen to recent trend as fashion icons in town.
A fusion of such host fashion and visual-kei bands has created a new genre of craze called, “V-Host.”
In addition, with a rise in the popularity, a magazine specialized in V-Host fashion, “Men’s SPIDER” has been established as well.
